pieces of a girl

If you're looking for an unusual and notable gift for your sister or best friend, this is the place to go. Pieces of a girl was created in 2002 by Emerson College alumni, Lizzy Flanagan.

My favorite singer of the moment, in all of her splendor. Yesterday, Demi Lovato came out with the Deluxe Edition of her debut album, Don't Forget.
You may not be completely familiar with this beautiful brunette from Texas. In her new Disney series, Sonny With a Chance, she plays an amusing and charming comedian. On MySpace and YouTube, she shares silly videos of her and best friend Selena Gomez with fans. And, she will be in two upcoming Disney flicks: Princess Protection Program, and Camp Rock 2.
For those of you who aren't quite the Disney crowd, and have no idea what I am talking about, that's okay. My point is that this fresh face trumps all the other ones. Her voice is incredible, and her songs inspirational. She may be 16 years old, and you can argue that she hasn't experienced much yet, but Demi Lovato is undeniably talented, unusual, and stunning.
She should also be announcing her very first tour dates sometime soon. I'm exciiiited.
For anyone who is interested in seeing what this girl can do, here is the video to Don't Forget, her latest single. Go buy her album, it's terrific.
Also check out her YouTube, therealdemilovato, and Selena Gomez', selgomez, they're quite fun.

Material Beauty Looks Like This.
Ever since I saw the movie Bride Wars, I have been interested in looking at wedding dresses. Not that I am already planning on marrying or anything like that, but having a slight interest in fashion, and an undeniable fascination for wedding planning, I cannot help but spend hours looking at these beautiful works of art.
I wanted to share this one dress, by Simone Carvalli. It is an Italian silk satin ball gown with hand made rosettes, an accent strapless neckline, buttons that trim the back zipper, something I love about it. This design is absolutely gorgeous. Take a look at her website for more. Her style is very classic too, with a hint of romantic fantasy. I love it.

Here's another one, a little more classic, but still bearing the superb buttoned back. This dress is by designer Judd Waddell, who believes in simplicity but elegance. This is an awe-inspiring piece and if you are interested at all, I suggest you take a look at this architecture student turned fashion designer's website. All of his bridal designs are worth fantasizing about.

Trattoria Di Monica's

So, I got a job recently at this little restaurant just up the street from me. I'm a waitress. I work with a girl named Melissa on Tuesdays and just yesterday, she has attributed me several nicknames. Amongst the "nerd," "geek," her ultimate favorite was Bambi. She says I am like a baby deer hopping around, dangling my arms. So, this is kind of a tribute to her, because I think working alongside her is pretty wonderful.
Check out Trattoria Di Monica's. The place is nice and cozy, the pasta handmade, and we offer about 8 specials every night. Come in and indulge in some exquisite Italian food.
